Join the Mid Peninsula American Dream Council and work to recapture what has been taken from the people in the last thirty years of attacks on social progress.

The "Trickle Down Theory of Economics" is a lie. Prosperity bubbles up. It does not trickle down.
Tax cuts for the wealthy 1% have robbed us,the 99%.
Surely small businesses create most of the jobs in America and the entrpreneurs who innovate and risk and borrow money to build a company do create jobs and are a boon to our nation. When the entrepreneur has something left over after he or she pays wages, employee benefits, rent, cost of equipment, research and development, cost of materials, cost of marketing, and a fair share of income tax, it is profit well earned.
But the super rich do not innovate much. They watch for innovations to succeed and then buy them out and layoff workers. Economies of scale mean that if Company A with 40,000 employees buys Company B with 400 employees, the combined company does not need 40,400 employees. So when megabusinesses buy companies many skilled and productive people are left without jobs and the public has fewer choices. Less competition means higher prices. The laws against restraint of trade have been weakened.
Worse, yet, mega businesses ship jobs to nations paying slave wages and even build factories in foreign nations.
Worse, yet, mega businesses spend millions on campaign contributions and incessant lobbying to shred legislation achieved over generations that protected worker rights, protected the environment, and restrained Wall Street gambling and manipulation to cripple businesses by driving down their stock prices.
The government is not the enemy. It is the protection the little people from the powerful. Under our Constitution, the power to govern belongs to the people. We have no king. The People are the King. But, our power is nothing if we are not vigilant against attacks on our rights. We must resist and reverse the acts of the last thirty years that have made us and our children less well off. We must Occupy!
